Where is Marvel Studios located? What is this movie about?

Where is Marvel Studios located? Marvel Studios, LLC (originally known as Marvel Films from 1993 to 1996) is an American film and television production company that is a subsidiary of Walt Disney Studios, a division of Disney Entertainment, which is owned by the Walt Disney Company. Marvel Studios produces the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) films and series, based on characters that appear in Marvel Comics publications

Since 2008, Marvel Studios has released 32 films within the MCU, from Iron Man (2008) to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023), nine television series since 2021, from WandaVision (2021) to Secret Invasion (2023), and two television specials, Werewolf by Night (2022) and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special (2022). The television series What If…? (2021) is the studio’s first animated property, created by its “mini-studio” Marvel Studios Animation. These films, television series, and television specials all share continuity with each other, along with the One-Shots short films produced by the studio. The television series produced by Marvel Television also acknowledge the continuity.

Where is Marvel Studios located?

The first film packaged and licensed by Marvel Studios was Blade, based on the vampire hunter Blade. The film was directed by Stephen Norrington and starred Wesley Snipes as Blade. It was released on August 21, 1998, grossing $70,087,718 in the United States and Canada and $131,183,530 worldwide.

Blade was followed by X-Men, which was directed by Bryan Singer and was released on July 14, 2000. X-Men grossed $157,299,717 in the United States and Canada and $296,250,053 worldwide. Blade and X-Men demonstrated that widely popular films could be made out of comic book characters not familiar to the general public.

Leading up to X-Men’s release, Marvel Studios negotiated a deal with then-functional Artisan Entertainment, successful with the low-budget The Blair Witch Project, for a co-production joint venture that included rights to 15 Marvel characters including Captain America, Thor, Black Panther, Iron Fist, and Deadpool. Artisan would finance and distribute while Marvel would develop licensing and merchandising tie-ins. The resulting production library, which would also include television series, direct-to-video films and internet projects, would be co-owned. By 2001, the success of Marvel Entertainment’s Ultimate Marvel imprint comics created leverage in Hollywood for Marvel Studios, pushing more properties into development.

Marvel Studios Offices Tour: A Behind-The-Scenes Look

A few years ago, Marvel Studios moved from their Manhattan Beach offices to the Walt Disney Studios lot. And yesterday, for the first time, Disney has opened the door to press. On Monday afternoon, I visited the new Marvel offices in Burbank. Here’s what I saw.

The Marvel Studios offices are located on the second floor of the Frank G. Wells Building on the Walt Disney Studios lot. When you exit the elevators, you are greeted by a wall-to-wall mural featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy, and a big Marvel Studios logo.

Marvel Studios began in a tiny office in Santa Monica that they shared with a kite factory. After that, the company moved to an office above a Mercedes dealership in Beverly Hills. They were based out of Manhattan Beach Studios for a few years before Disney asked them to move onto the Burbank lot in 2014. But it wasn’t until a few months ago that Marvel fully decorated their offices.

Across from the reception desk is a waiting area, positioned in front of a replica of the Iron Man gantry. This is probably the coolest waiting area I’ve ever seen in Hollywood, second only to Bad Robot’s office in Santa Monica.

On the other side of the reception desk is a display of Gamora and Star Lords costumes from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. While many of the displays in the offices are permanent, we were told that this costume display gets changed out on a regular basis probably to reflect the newest film release from the company. Unfortunately, this is where the photos end as Marvel doesn’t allow any photos or video in any of their development areas.

Once you enter the actual offices, there is a gigantic wall-to-wall mural featuring concept art from Black Panther. The main communal area is lined with posters from all of the Marvel Studios films released thus far, each signed by most of the cast members. The area also features a bunch of cool displays, like a scale model of the Helicarrier that was made during the development of The Avengers.

Next to an Avengers pinball machine is a scale model of Disneyland’s Main Street, complete with a working Disneyland Railroad train that circles the encased model. Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige is a huge Disneyland fanatic, and the model is part of his personal collection on display in the office. On the other side of the room is a ping pong ball table, where Marvel employees can play to let off some steam.

Shawarma Palace — The Avengers

The 2012 film The Avengers was the one in which the now-loved superheroes joined forces for the first time as a team to defend New York City. Once they are done battling, and at Iron Man’s suggestion, the group wraps up the day by eating shawarma at a restaurant known as Shawarma Palace. This is a post-credits scene from the movie that was actually shot after the original premiere in order to add it before its wide release.

The location for this scene was Elat Burger, a Los Angeles restaurant that later changed its name to Shalom Grill. Of course, like many of the things featured in Marvel movies, shawarma became super popular after The Avengers was released with sales soaring exponentially.

Warrior Falls — Black Panther

Warrior Falls is a site in Black Panther where different characters duel in ritual combats for the crown of Wakanda, and although the main focus here are these tough battles, the audience can still appreciate the natural beauty in the background. While the scenes featuring the actors were shot in an Atlanta studio, the waterfall footage was captured at Iguazu Falls, the world’s longest waterfall system located between Argentina and Brazil.

Randy’s Donuts — Iron Man 2

In one of the most iconic scenes of Iron Man 2, Tony Stark is spotted wearing his Iron Man armor, eating donuts and drinking coffee while sitting on the giant donut sign located on the roof of Randy’s Donuts. Eventually, his peace is interrupted by Nick Fury, who brings him down to have a conversation and, subsequently, reveal Natasha Romanoff’s true identity.

This donut store exists in real life and bears the same name. It is located in Inglewood and was built in 1953 by Russell C. Wendell. Scenes inside the cafe, however, were shot at another California establishment called Yum Yum Donuts.

Pier 13 — Captain America: The First Avenger

After Steve Rogers undergoes his transformation by being subjected to the super-soldier treatment, an undercover Hydra agent flees the place stealing the serum, which forces Steve to go looking for him. Thus, he chases the agent throughout Pier 13, although his efforts are in vain: once he catches him, the man commits suicide. These scenes from Captain America: The First Avenger were shot outside the Titanic Hotel, located in Stanley Dock, Liverpool.

Midtown High School — Spider-Man: Homecoming

Besides saving the world as Spider-Man, Peter Parker is just a teenager who, as any other, must attend school. For that reason, educational institutions are heavily present throughout all the Spider-Man movies.

The superhero played by Tom Holland and his friends attend the fictional Midtown School of Science and Technology, located in Queens, New York City in Spider-Man: Homecoming. To shoot the hero’s scenes at school, filmmakers chose several schools in Atlanta and Brooklyn, including Henry W. Grady High School and Franklin K. Lane High School.

Tower City Center, Cleveland, Ohio — The Avengers

In one particular scene from The Avengers, Loki intercepts a group of people in Germany, forces them to kneel before him and delivers a speech on how humankind was made to be ruled by other people. When an old man in the crowd rebels against Loki’s demands, he attempts to assassinate him to further display his power, though fortunately Captain America arrives to rescue the man. This scene was not actually shot in Germany, but at the Tower City Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
